1st Training School: "Energy recovery in anaerobic processes in wastewater and sludge processing"
Wednesday, May 8, 2013
The first training school "Energy recovery in anaerobic processes in wastewater and sludge processing” was organized within the EU COST Action Water 2020 by the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice (Poland) from 24th to 27th September 2013.
This course was focussed on technologies for energy recovery and saving during wastewater treatment, nutrient removal and sludge management. The course contained topics like: Anammox process, methanogenesis for energy recovery, sludge pretreatment, low-temperature anaerobic sewage treatment, biofilm technologies, microbial fuel cells, hydrogen and biopolymers production.
The training school was attended by 20 participants from 8 countries, being the lectures given by 5 trainers from 4 different countries.
